About Spooky Doll House...

I make art dolls, doll clothes, dolls for your dolls, spooky miniatures for doll photography, doll related art, and occasionally art that has nothing to do with dolls at all. I work both on my own inspiration as well as on commission. I’m passionate about keeping waste to a minimum in all areas of my work, so I often create one of a kind pieces with castoffs and scraps. Many of my custom vinyl/playline dolls are made from previously loved dolls that I carefully and lovingly restore before making them over. I work in a variety of vintage-inspired and modern styles, but I have a special love for things that toe the line between cute and creepy.

I’ve been sewing for over 20 years and making art even longer, but only decided to start selling my work about 10 years ago. At that time I started AlterEgo Designs selling mainly t-shirt crafts. A few years later I added my signature Blockhead plush art dolls to my regular lineup. I gradually started phasing out sewing for people once I started sewing for dolls and realized that dolls make MUCH better customers (and fit models) than people do! Earlier this year I started transitioning all of my business accounts from the AlterEgo name to Spooky Doll House. I’ve enjoyed making miniatures as long as I can remember, so it felt like a very natural progression to start working entirely in miniature scale.
